Why children should learn Quran?

• 1) Fulfillment of the childhood dream:

It is every kid's dream when he/she starts learning how to read and write that they will go on Hajj or Umrah one day, stand in front of Kaaba and pray like all the other Muslims. But as they grow older, either they realize it is not their destiny or very little time is left for them to go and visit the holy place. So if your kid gets a chance to perform prayers in front of Kaaba by learning the Quran at a young age, there will be nothing better than that for him/her!

• 2) Increase memory power:

As kids memorize Quran, they also increase their focus and concentration which can help them concentrate on whatever task given to them – whether it is studying hard for scoring good marks in exams or focusing on their daily chores like doing homework, etc.

• 3) Know how to save yourself from hassles:

One of the most important reasons you want your child to listen to the Quran is so that they can learn how to save themselves from all the hassles in life. Since kids are too young to take major decisions, they can always take advice from Quran which will tell them how to behave and act in every situation they find themselves in.

• 4) Know how to recite Quran with Tajweed:

How many times have you gone up on mimbar that you started reciting surahs like Surah Mulk, Surah Nuh, Surah Al-Jinn, etc?
If you want your child to get used to reciting the Holy Quran fluently then him/she needs to learn it at a very early age. Kids who learn Quran while growing up almost always score good marks in their exams since even if they forget their science or math formulas. They can always recollect Quran verses to understand the subject.

• 5) Make yourself closer to Allah:

As children learn about Quran, it becomes their duty too to practice what they have studied and make themselves one with Allah. Parents can also encourage them by telling them how learning Quran has brought them closer to their creator. Not only does this motivate kids but also helps them realize how important it is for everyone in this world to follow Quran!

• 6) Prepares child to be Hafiz Jahan:

One of the most famous sayings of Prophet Muhammad is that if any man dies while he hasn't learned a single letter from the Quran then he died upon ignorance. It is very important for kids who are learning Quran that they do not stop their learning when they are young. It is said that Quran makes a person strong from within. So if your kid learns Quran with Tajweed, he/she will be able to recite Quran at any age and make themselves ready to become Hafiz Jahan.

• 7) Educated girls are the foundation of Islamic Groomed society:

Prophet Muhammad had permitted women to learn and teach the Quran? If every mother encourages her daughter to learn Quran then I am sure we will see a lot of female Hafiz shortly who can contribute towards spreading Islam in its true form.

After discussing the above points, kids need to realize that even if they learn Quran online their recitation should be perfect and according to rules/methods taught by qualified scholars. This will make them ready and confident enough to participate in any Quran competition (moot) or Qirat contest where they can give other kids a tough time!
